New 60km/h speed limit for Nursery Road at Macksville
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) encouraged motorists to slow down on Nursery Road at Macksville ahead of a speed limit reduction to be introduced this month to improve road safety and reduce crash risk.
“RMS reviewed the speed limit on the Nursery Road at Macksville in response to requests from Nambucca Shire Council and local residents,” an RMS spokesperson said.
“The review assessed a number of factors including road environment, traffic characteristics and crash history. ”The 100km/h speed limit will be reduced to 60km/h for the entire length of Nursery Road.in accordance with NSW
Speed Zoning Guidelines.
“Warning signs will be in place to advise motorists of the speed limit changes when the new speed limit signs are installed by Nambucca Shire Council on July 31.
“These warning signs will remain in place for at least a week after the new speed limit signs have been installed. “Motorists are reminded to slow down and observe the new 60 km/h speed limit from next month.
“Community members are invited to sign up at www.saferroadsnsw.com.au to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their local area,” a spokesperson said.
