Boaters alerted to exclusive use ski races on Hawkesbury River

8 August 2013

Boaters should keep clear of an area of the Hawkesbury River this weekend as Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence for the safe staging of waterski races.

The exclusive use area applies both days on the river from Webbs Creek to 400 metres upstream from 9am to 5pm.

This area will be used exclusively for the safe staging of a ski race organised by Ski Racing NSW.

The area will be monitored by control vessels at both ends and skippers will be advised of the location of a transit zone during the event.

For safety reasons, skippers should avoid this area as it will be closed for the event.

Vessels not involved in event should not enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
