Hunter Expressway information session at Branxton

The Hunter Expressway team will hold a community information session in Branxton on Thursday 29 August, 2013 to update the community on the progress of the project.

“The $1.7 billion Hunter Expressway project is the largest infrastructure project under way in NSW and is  jointly funded, with the Australian Government providing $1.5 billion and the NSW Government contributing up to $200 million,” a Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) spokesperson said.

“Major work is continuing along the full length of the Hunter Expressway and the information session will provide the community with the opportunity to talk with the project team and find out more information on work happening in their local area.

“A project display will be available and will include maps, artist impressions and a computerised 3D model of the Hunter Expressway.

“The information session and display are part of the project’s ongoing community consultation and information activities.

“The information session will be held on Thursday 29 August from 9.30am to 12.30pm at the Branxton Community Hall, 35 Bowen Street Branxton.

“The Hunter Expressway team will continue to have regular public information sessions at locations in the Hunter,” the spokesperson said.

The 40 kilometre Hunter Expressway will deliver a four-lane freeway link between the F3 Freeway near Seahampton, and the New England Highway, west of Branxton.
