Night work continues with ramp closures on M4 Western Motorway from Homebush to Silverwater
Motorists are advised night work to resurface the M4 Western Motorway from Homebush to Concord continues this month with resurfacing of entry and exit ramps from the motorway planned during seven night shifts in September and early October.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said work started in August to improve the road surface and replace line marking from Homebush Bay Drive at Homebush and Silverwater Road at Silverwater in both directions.
“Maintenance work is being carried out from 9pm to 5am, Sunday to Thursday to reduce impacts to motorists.
“A full closure of the Hill Road off ramps and Silverwater Road city bound on ramp and west bound off ramp will be required for resurfacing work in seven night shifts in September and early October.
“A full closure of each ramp each night is needed to ensure a safe work space.
‘Motorists will be given advance notice of closure dates and times and detours on portable electronic message signs on connecting roads and before the M4 Western Motorway ramps.
“Motorists are advised to plan extra travel time as delays of 15 to 30 minutes are expected.
“Traffic controllers will be on site to direct traffic around partial lane closures and motorists are reminded to observe reduced speed limits.
“Further resurfacing night work will continue Parramatta Road and Silverwater Road in both directions until December with work to be delivered in several stages to reduce impacts to motorists,” the spokesperson said.
