Kayak races on Clarence River at Grafton
10 September 2013
Boaters should keep clear of an area on the Clarence River this weekend as Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence for the safe staging of kayak races.
The exclusive use area applies on the Clarence River between Duke Street and an area next to the Memorial Park north of Susan Island from 8am to 5pm on Saturday 14 September.
This area will be used exclusively for the safe staging of a kayak race organised by South Grafton High School.
The area will be marked by buoys and monitored by control vessels.
For safety reasons, skippers should avoid this area as it will be closed for the event.
Vessels not involved in the event should not enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
