Safer speed limit on Hyland Park Road

Motorists are reminded to slow down on Hyland Park Road between Nambucca Heads and Hyland Park with a speed limit reduction to be introduced this month to improve safety.

Roads and Maritime Services carried out a review of the existing 100km/h speed limit for factors including road conditions, traffic movement and crash statistics.

“The review was carried out in accordance with the NSW Speed Zoning Guidelines in consultation with Nambucca Shire Council,” a Roads and Maritime spokesperson said.

“A new 90km/h speed limit will replace the existing 100km/h limit for 2.8 kilometres of Hyland Park Road from 220 metres west of Eggleton Street, Hyland Park to 50 metres north of Mann Street at Nambucca Heads.

“The new limit aims to improve safety on the rural road and reduce crash risk.

“Warning signs will be in place one week before and after the new speed limit signs are installed by Nambucca Shire Council to remind motorists to slow down,” a Roads and Maritime spokesperson said.
