Changed boating conditions for rowing regatta on Clarence River
14 November 2013
Boaters are reminded to keep clear of a section of the Clarence River on Sunday for the safe staging of a rowing regatta.
Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence on the river from Duke Street in Grafton near Memorial Park about 2.5 kilometres upstream, north of Susan Island from 7am to 4pm.
The area will be marked by buoys and monitored by control vessels.
Skippers should avoid this area as it will be closed to recreational and commercial boating for safety reasons.
Vessels not involved in event should not enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
RMS reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in craft under 4.8m when alone, at night or offshore
