Speed limit changes in Hannam Vale

Motorists are encouraged to slow down on Hannam Vale Road from Moorland to Hannam Vale with speed limit changes due to be implemented in the next fortnight, weather permitting.

Roads and Maritime Services carried out a review of the speed limit on Hannam Vale Road in response to community feedback.

“The review assessed a number of factors along the road including road environment, traffic characteristics and crash data,” a Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said.

“The existing 90km/h speed limit on Hannam Vale Road will be reduced to 80km/h from 700 metres west of the Pacific Highway to 620 metres south of Deep Creek Road.

“The speed zone is being reduced due to the number of tight bends, intersections and property accesses along the route.

“Warning signs will be in place to advise motorists of the changes and will remain for at least a week after the new speed limit signs have been installed.

“Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area and have their say on speed limits,” a spokesperson said.
