Brand reflects new agency approach to the customer

A new Roads and Maritime brand has been developed to complement the dual aspects of the agency and reflect the focus on the customer.

Roads and Maritime Services was formed in November 2011 and brought together functions of the former NSW Roads and Traffic Authority and NSW Maritime.

“Since then we’ve worked hard to develop and implement strategies to meet the priorities set by government, including significant reform around the way we interact with our customers and the broader community,” a spokesperson said.

“Our purpose as an agency is to enable safe and efficient journeys throughout NSW and this relates equally to our waterway and road networks.

“The old RTA brand did not reflect our significant Maritime responsibilities or represent the agency’s focus on enabling the customer’s journey.

“We have listened to what our customers want and invested in our people and systems to better reflect customer needs and expectations.

“We have increased the number of online services available to our customers and the introduction of this brand provides the community and our staff with a symbol to reflect the changes to our organisational culture while allowing the community to more easily identify the agency.

“This brand is part of a suite of identifiers for agencies under the Transport for NSW cluster and it is important for our customers to see this logo and recognise the service or product it is attached to as coming from Roads and Maritime Services or initiatives of the Maritime Management Centre.

“Customers can expect to see it online and on staff uniforms, heavy vehicle safety stations and in registry offices. The Maritime Management Centre will also use the logo.

"The budget to implement the new brand is around $4.3 million and to ensure cost efficiencies existing materials will be expended wherever feasible before new stock is ordered in line with standard stock and asset replacement processes.”
