Safety improvement work completed on Newcastle Road at Lambton
Safety improvement upgrades have been completed this week on the western side of Newcastle Road at the intersection of Dent and Croudace Streets at Lambton.
“Traffic lights and pedestrian crossing facilities were installed at the left turn lane connecting Croudace Street to Newcastle Road to provide better access and a safer crossing for pedestrians on the western side of Newcastle Road,” said a Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson.
“The existing traffic lights and pedestrian ramps on Newcastle Road at the intersections of Croudace and Dent Streets, have also been upgraded to improve visibility of pedestrians for motorists.
“We expect this improvement work to benefit the community travelling between local schools, residences and public transport on the western side of Newcastle Road.
“The NSW Government provided $410,000 for the upgrade work.
“Roads and Maritime Services thanks motorists and residents for their patience while the work was carried out,” the spokesperson said.
