Changed boating conditions for 2014 World Championship Gumi race on Murrumbidgee River

Boaters are reminded to keep clear of a section of the Murrumbidgee River on Sunday 16 February for the safe staging of the 2014 World Championship Gumi Race.

Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence on the river at Wagga Wagga from the Eunony Bridge downstream to Wagga Beach from 8am to 4pm.

The area will be maintained and monitored by marked control vessels.

Those in boats not involved in event should not enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.

Roads and Maritime reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in vessels smaller than 4.8 metres when alone, at night or offshore.
