Community invited to view design improvements for Nambucca Heads to Urunga Highway upgrade
Roads and Maritime Services is inviting the community to view design refinements to the Nambucca Heads to Urunga section of the Pacific Highway upgrade. “Work is under way to design and build the 22-kilometre upgrade of the Pacific Highway between Nambucca Heads and Urunga which when completed will link up to the existing dual lane divided highway north of the Waterfall Way interchange at Raleigh,” a Roads and Maritime spokesperson said.

“The project is jointly funded by the Australian and NSW governments.”

Roads and Maritime Services is carrying out a number of refinements to the approved concept design.

The community is invited to view updates to the design which include moving the alignment slightly west between Boggy Creek and Valla Road to reduce impacts on Cow Creek and the existing Pacific Highway.

Design refinements have also been made to the intersection of Deep Creek Road and the local access road to prioritise traffic flow. Other refinements include upgrading the intersection at Ballards Road and the Pacific Highway as part of the interchange work, modifying the alignment of the Short Cut Road overbridge and reconfiguring the Waterfall Way interchange to improve safety.

The design refinements will be on display until Friday 21 February.
