New 10km/h shared zones at Redfern
16 June 2014
Roads and Maritime Services is advising motorists a 10 km/h shared zone will be installed on Charles Street, Stanley Street and Thurlow Lane at Redfern.
“The new shared zone will require motorists to give way to pedestrians in the area marked by signs,” a Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said.
“Roads and Maritime has been working with City of Sydney Council to improve safety along these narrow laneways.
“City of Sydney has installed bollards and markings to create a pedestrian friendly low speed environment.
“Roads and Maritime expects to install shared zone signs and road markings from Monday 23 June with the changed traffic conditions to start from this date.”
