Snow delays Jenolan Caves Road night safety work

25 June 2014

Snowfall has delayed work planned by Roads and Maritime Services to replace the old chain wire mesh fence next to Jenolan Caves Road on Five Mile Hill.

The start of work, originally planned for tonight will be delayed until next Monday night, 30 June.

Jenolan Caves Road will be closed to all traffic from Duckmaloi Road to the caves for this important safety work from 6pm to 6am Sunday to Thursday.

Work is expected to be completed one week later than planned, by Thursday 24 July, weather permitting.

During work all light vehicles travelling from the Great Western Highway to Jenolan Caves will be detoured via Duckmaloi, Titania and Edith roads to Jenolan Caves. Motorists are advised to plan their journey and allow up to 25 minutes extra travel time.

Detours will be clearly signposted and a traffic controller will be in place on Five Mile Hill to direct motorists.
