Beelbangera Road safety upgrade complete

4 July 2014

Safety along Beelbangera Road has been improved near Griffith with the completion of a road upgrade.

A spokesperson for Roads and Maritime Services said the NSW Government provided $800,000 for the project, 10 kilometres north east of Griffith.

“Roads and Maritime Services widened and sealed the shoulders on a five kilometre section of road between Rankin Springs and McLean roads and installed drainage,” the spokesperson said.

“The work aims to improve the safety for turning vehicles at the Moseley and McLean roads intersections.

“There have been four crashes at this site in the five years to 2012, including one fatality.”

The spokesperson said the project would improve safety for the local community and other road users.

“This project is an example of the NSW Government’s commitment to improving road safety in south western
NSW.”

Traffic control measures including reduced speed limits will be lifted and road conditions will return to normal.
