Safety improvement work starts on Pemell Street roundabout at Wyoming

27 January 2015

Community members are set to benefit from work to improve the Pemell Street roundabout at Wyoming starting this Sunday.

A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said $130,000 has been provided for linemarking adjustments to improve safety when entering and crossing the five way roundabout.

“Left lane marking improvements will be carried out for motorists travelling southbound on the Pacific Highway, eastbound lanes marked toward Henry Parry Drive and Pemell Street and right lane marking improvements will also be carried out for motorists continuing south on the Pacific Highway or westbound on Pemell Street,” a Roads and Maritime spokesperson said.

“The changes will make entering the roundabout from Henry Parry Drive and Pemell Street simpler and safer for motorists.

“Linemarking improvements will also be carried out on Henry Parry Drive to improve sight lines for motorists by providing a single lane approach for northbound traffic entering the roundabout.”

To ensure the safety of workers, motorists and other road users, a temporary 40km/h speed limit will be in place during work and traffic control and signs will help direct motorists.

Roads and Maritime thanks the community for their patience while this essential road improvement work is carried out.
