Investigations start to inform Epping Town Centre road upgrades
3 March 2015
Roads and Maritime Services advises motorists changed traffic conditions will be in place from Monday 9 March for investigations for the Epping Town Centre precinct.
The NSW Government has provided $7 million this year to progress plans to improve roads and intersections to improve traffic flow and safety and reduce traffic delays as part of the Epping Town Centre Urban Activation Precincts Program.
Roads and Maritime Services will carry out work to locate underground utilities on weekdays between 8am and 3pm from Monday 9 March, weather permitting.
Five night shifts will be carried out between 8pm and 5am also with nearby residents to be notified in advance.
Work will involve drilling at locations on Essex Street, Epping Road, Forest Grove and Blaxland Road to confirm the location of underground utilities including water mains and electrical cables.
For the safety of workers and road users, lane closures will be in place during work hours.
Motorists should allow extra travel time, plan their trip and follow all signs, including reduced speed limits.
Every effort will be made to minimise the impact of noise during work.
Roads and Maritime thanks the community for its patience during this important utility work which is expected to be completed by the end of April, weather permitting.
