Road safety improvements for Batlow Road at Homebush Park
6 March 2015
Roads and Maritime Services will start work on a $1.6 million project to improve Batlow Road at Homebush Park, north of Tumbarumba, on Monday 16 March.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the project aims to reduce ongoing maintenance costs and provide a safer road surface for all road users.
“Work will involve widening areas of the road to even out the curves for better motorist safety, rebuilding and resurfacing the road and improving drainage along the 1.86 kilometre length,” the spokesperson said.
Work will be carried out on weekdays from 7am to 6pm and on Saturdays from 8am to 1pm, weather permitting.
Motorists should plan their trip, allow extra travel time and follow all signs, including reduced speed limits.
Traffic controllers and mobile traffic lights will be on site to guide traffic through the site.
Tumbarumba Shire Council is carrying out the work on behalf of Roads and Maritime.
Roads and Maritime thanks the community for their patience during the resurfacing work, expected to be completed in May, weather permitting.
