Changed traffic conditions to inform North West Growth Centre Strategy
11 March 2015
Roads and Maritime Services advises road users of changed traffic conditions from Monday 16 March for night work on Westminster Street and Railway Terrace in Schofields.
A spokesperson said this essential geotechnical investigation work is part of the proposed road network strategy for the North West Growth Centre which was announced in November last year.
“Geotechnical investigations will include drilling, excavating and the collection of test samples,” the spokesperson said.
“Work will be carried out on weekdays and Saturdays between 8pm and 5am, weather permitting.
“Lane closures will be in place during the work to protect the safety of road users and workers.
“Road users should allow extra travel time, plan their trip and follow the direction of traffic controllers, reduced speed limits and all signs.
“Every effort will be made to minimise the impact of the work on nearby residents and businesses.
“Roads and Maritime thanks the community for their patience during this investigation work, which is expected to be completed on Saturday 21 March, weather permitting,” the spokesperson said.
