Princes Motorway to close for essential maintenance

25 MAY 2015

Roads and Maritime Services advises motorists the M1 Princes Motorway will be closed for five nights next week for essential maintenance.

The NSW Government allocated $720,000 this year to improve safety for motorists between Masters Road and the Princes Highway at Yallah.

The Princes Motorway will be closed between 9pm and 4am each night from Sunday 31 May to Thursday 4 June to allow work to be safely carried out.

Work includes road repairs and maintenance of drains and vegetation, replacing road signs and repairing guardrails.

Detours will be in place for light vehicles via the Princes Highway through Unanderra and Dapto. Heavy vehicles will be detoured via Masters Road, Five Islands Road, King Street, Windang Road and Lake Entrance Road.

Motorists are asked to allow extra travel time and follow the direction of signs and traffic control.

Electronic message signs will display changes to work dates and times in the advent of bad weather.

Roads and Maritime thanks motorists for their patience while work is carried out.

The work is part of Roads and Maritime’s commitment to delivering safe and high quality infrastructure for the South Coast community.
