Work complete on new Wakehurst Parkway slip lane at Frenchs Forest
2 OCTOBER 2015
Motorists will benefit from improvements completed this week to reduce congestion and improve travel times on Wakehurst Parkway near the intersection of Frenchs Forest Road East at Frenchs Forest.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said $5 million was provided toward the major project to increase capacity on one of northern Sydney’s key corridors. “The southbound left turn lane into Frenchs Forest Road East has been extended to reduce congestion and improve safety by providing more room for vehicles waiting to turn from blocking the through lane,” the spokesperson said. “The work also aims to reduce the risk of rear end crashes and support planned upgrades around the future Northern Beaches Hospital site.
“The completed lane opened to traffic today, Friday 2 October and minor work will continue to landscape the area until mid October.
“Road users are asked to follow the direction of traffic controllers and obey reduced speed limits.”
