Work starts on Cahill Expressway at Milsons Point
9 OCTOBER 2015
Roads and Maritime Services will start work on 11 October to upgrade a 120 metre section of the Cahill Expressway at Milsons Point.
A Roads and Maritime spokesperson said $1 million NSW Government funding has been allocated for the work to provide a safer journey for motorists using the busy expressway.
“Work will start on Sunday 11 October with investigations to be followed by asphalt resurfacing ,” a spokesperson said.
“Roads and Maritime will carry out the noisier work between 8pm and midnight and less noisy work between midnight and 5am from Sunday to Wednesday for 11 weeks, weather permitting.
“Local residents and motorists are advised work will require the closure of a 120 metre section of the Cahill Expressway at Milsons Point which will affect southbound traffic.
“The Sydney Harbour Tunnel and two southbound lanes on the Sydney Harbour Bridge will be available for motorists heading south.”
Motorists should plan ahead and follow traffic detours and speed restrictions. For the latest traffic information, visit www.livetraffic.com, download the Live Traffic App or call the Transport Management Centre on 132 701.
