Have your say on preferred option for new Toolebuc Bridge
12 OCTOBER 2015
Roads and Maritime Services today invited the community to have their say on the preferred option for a replacement bridge at Tooleybuc on the Mallee Highway.
“The NSW Government has allocated $1 million in 2015-16 under the Bridges for the Bush program to continue planning the project which is jointly funded with the Victorian Government,” a Spokesperson for Roads and Maritime said.
“The yellow option, a two lane high level bridge and approaches, was selected with input from Roads and Maritime, VicRoads, Wakool, Swan Hill and Balranald councils, local business owners and community members.
“It was chosen as it provides the best alignment for heavy vehicle traffic crossing the Murray River, eliminates the need for a new liftspan, which would interrupt road and boating traffic, and will result in a more attractive town centre for Tooleybuc.”
“Roads and Maritime is seeking community feedback about the preferred option from 12 October to 6 November 2015 to help refine the design.
“The preliminary environmental investigations report, preferred option report and value management report are now available on the Roads and Maritime website.
“Members of the community are invited to an information night at 6pm on Wednesday 28 October at the Tooleybuc Sports Club.”
Feedback is invited by Friday 6 November on 02 6937 1604 or Wagga.Wagga.Regional.Office@rms.nsw.gov.au or to Tooleybuc bridge replacement, PO Box 484,Wagga Wagga NSW 2650.
