Have a say on night work on Henry Lawson Drive and Bullecourt Avenue
21 October 2015
Roads and Maritime Services is inviting community feedback on proposed night work to build intersection improvements at the Henry Lawson Drive and Bullecourt Avenue intersection at Milperra.
Glenn Brookes said if approved the night work would be delivered as part of the NSW Government’s $246 million Pinch Point Program, which targets traffic congestion hotspots.
“Roads and Maritime is inviting community feedback on a proposal to work up to five nights a week during the next four months, in order to deliver this important improvement for motorists,” Glenn said.
The work will include extending the right turn bay on Henry Lawson Drive at Bullecourt Avenue, moving the kerb and gutter on Bullecourt Avenue for left turning vehicles and moving the pedestrian crossing and traffic lights.
“In order to limit the impact of noise on residents and road users, some work would be carried out at night between 8pm and 5am, with noisy work like jackhammering and breaking up concrete between 8pm and 11pm only.
“We welcome feedback and would appreciate comments by Friday 6 November 2015,” Glenn said.
“Feedback will be considered and the community updated as the project progresses.”
