Night work setting up traffic switch on Schofields Road intersection
13 NOVEMBER 2015
Night work will take place over the weekend to prepare the Schofields Road and Railway Terrace intersection for a traffic switch.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said $135 million NSW Government funding has been allocated to upgrade Schofields Road, to provide a key east-west link for motorists in the North West Growth Centre of Schofields.
“Roads and Maritime is continuing to deliver stage two of the Schofields Road upgrade between Tallawong Road and Veron Road in Schofields,” a Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said.
“As part of this work, Roads and Maritime is preparing to move traffic onto a new section of road between Railway Terrace and Schofields Farm Road by 5am on Monday 16 November, weather permitting.”
“To prepare for the switch, night work will take place continuously from 5pm on Friday 13 November until 5am Monday 16 November.
“Roads and Maritime are also closing Railway Terrace between Schofields Road and Advance Street to build the new section of Railway Terrace.
“A temporary detour via Advance Street, Junction Road and Schofields Road will be in place until late January 2016, and the intersection of Schofields Farm Road and Schofields Road will be closed until June 2016, weather permitting.
“Motorists may experience minor delays and are encouraged to plan ahead, and follow the direction of traffic controllers, speed limits and signs.”
