Motorists advised of speed limit change on Parkdale Road in Bourke

24 November 2015

Motorists are advised of speed limit changes from Wednesday 2 December on Parkdale Road, in Bourke.

Roads and Maritime Services carried out a review of the road as part of an ongoing speed zone review program and in response to community feedback.

“The review assessed a number of factors along the road including pedestrian activity, road environment, traffic characteristics and crash data,” a Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said.

“A reduced speed limit will help improve the safety of pedestrians walking to and from town along Parkdale Road.”

The existing 60 km/h speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h between 213 metres and 900 metres west of the intersection with Culgoa Street.

“Roads and Maritime thanks road users for their patience while the change is implemented,” a Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said.

Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area and have a say on speed limits.
