Have your say on night work on Milperra Road in Revesby
26 NOVEMBER 2015
Roads and Maritime Services is seeking feedback on a proposal to complete improvements at the intersection of Milperra Road and The River Road in Revesby.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said night work to deliver important traffic flow improvements would be delivered as part of the NSW Government’s $246 million Pinch Point Program, which aims to reduce traffic congestion on Sydney’s major roads.
“Work includes extending the existing right turn lane on Milperra Road by 220 metres by widening on the southern side of Milperra Road, providing a dual right turn bay. Roads and Maritime will also be adjusting the kerbs, gutter, drainage and driveways on the southern side of Milperra Road,” a Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said.
“In addition, light poles and utilities will be relocated and the road surface improved.
“The community is being asked to have a say on the proposed week night work schedule from 8pm to 5am, with some day shifts between 10am and 2pm.
“In order to limit the impact on residents and road users, work is proposed to be carried out during a 12 week period, up to five nights a week.
“Alternatively, Roads and Maritime could carry out work across a 17 week period, working up to three nights a week, weather permitting.”
Noisier work like jackhammering and breaking concrete would be carried out until midnight or during the day shifts.
Feedback on the proposed night work schedule is welcomed by Friday 4 December 2015,” a Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said.
“All feedback will be reviewed and the community will be updated as the project progresses.”
