Roads and Maritime Services this week launched the new and improved Traffic Volume Viewer as the latest addition to its complementary suite of journey information tools designed to support economic growth, promote transport and enhance business to business communication.
A Roads and Maritime spokesman said the Traffic Volume Viewer shows the annual average daily traffic at key locations throughout the Greater Sydney metropolitan area which is calculated through data sourced from permanent and sample traffic collection stations.
“Permanent and sample traffic collection stations are strategically placed in areas influenced by rapid routes, infrastructure development and performance reporting needs,” the spokesperson said.
“The new Traffic Volume Viewer has comprehensive traffic information from 2006 to 2016 presented in a cleaner and easier to understand format.”
The Roads and Maritime spokesperson said the suite of tools which includes the Roads and Maritime Roads Report was developed to provide up to date, interactive and relevant information for customers and key stakeholders.
“The Traffic Volume Viewer in particular will be useful for planners, developers, engineers and local and state government agencies in the planning, implementation and post implementation phases of infrastructure projects,” the spokesperson said.
