Work starts on $670,000 essential maintenance project for Railway Street at Rooty Hill
10 MAY 2016
Work will start from Sunday 15 May on a $670,000 project to improve Railway Street and Duke Street at Rooty Hill.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said work would be carried out between Woodstock Avenue and Sherbrooke Street including removing and replacing asphalt, repairing pot holes, adjusting drain covers and line marking.
“This work will improve the road surface and provide a safer journey for motorists accessing Mount Druitt Hospital, Rooty Hill RSL and other nearby facilities including Westfield shopping centre.”
Work will be carried out for up to five nights per week for five weeks, weather permitting, with work from 8pm to 5am.
Changed traffic conditions including lane closures and reduced speed limits will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Road users should follow the direction of traffic control and allow extra travel time.
