School zone for St Luke's Catholic School, Marsden Park
11 January 2017
A school zone will be installed near the new St Luke’s Catholic School, Marsden Park, later this month.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said a 40 km/h school zone would be in place for 300 metres on Northbourne Avenue between Cassinia Avenue and Frontier Avenue to cover the active access point along this street.
“It will also be extended to cover short lengths of side streets being built as part of the development,” the spokesperson said.
“Roads and Maritime Services reviewed the school zone at the request of a developer to ensure appropriate school zone speed limits were in place.
“In general 40 km/h school zones are provided on roads with an active direct access point from the school.
“The 40km/h school zone will operate between 8am and 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm on gazetted school days.
“The school zone signs are expected to be installed on Friday 27 January, weather permitting.”
Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website www.saferroadsnsw.com.au to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in a nominated area.
Motorists are reminded to drive to speed limits at all times for the safety of all road users.
