Have a say on night work on Princes Highway and The Seven Ways at Rockdale
5 JUNE 2017
A Roads and Maritime spokesperson has encouraged the community to have a say on a proposal to carry out night work on the Princes Highway and The Seven Ways between Frederick Street and Rockdale Plaza Drive at Rockdale.
The spokesperson said the NSW Government is funding essential maintenance work along the Princes Highway to improve safety for motorists and reduce the need for ongoing future maintenance.
“Work will involve investigating utilities, repainting road markings and removing and replacing asphalt, kerbs and guttering along Princes Highway and The Seven Ways at Rockdale,” the spokesperson said.
“To minimise the impact to motorists, work is proposed to be carried out for up to five nights a week for eight weeks for a total of 36 shifts, weather permitting.
“An alternative schedule involves working up to three nights a week, which would extend the project to 12 weeks.
“For both proposals work hours would be between 8pm and 5am Sunday to Friday, excluding public holidays, with noisier activities such as saw cutting and jack hammering completed by midnight to minimise the impact to residents and businesses.”
Feedback on the preferred work option can be provided to Roads and Maritime Services’ project delivery partner Ventia Boral Amey Joint Venture by Monday 12 June by writing to Ventia Boral Amey Joint Venture, PO Box 838 Rockdale NSW 2216 or emailing email@example.com.
