Murrumbidgee River opened up for locals and tourists to enjoy

More accessible, safer and modern boating infrastructure is now available at Balranald Caravan Park after the completion of a major upgrade.

A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the NSW Government provided $145,000 towards the $160,000 improvements which started in March this year.

“The caravan park has been given a new lease on life, as locals and tourists now have improved access to the Murrumbidgee River.

“Work involved the installation of an eight metre pontoon at the boat ramp and building of amenities.
“This important project will make a real difference to the Balranald community, especially those who use the waterways for work and leisure.

“The upgrade will ensure locals continue to make the most of the state’s natural assets and help attract visitors to the region.”

The spokesperson said investigations and early design work have been carried out to improve boating access at Lake Benanee in the Murray electorate.

“The community will be kept informed about any proposed improvements at this location.”
