New clearways on the way for Boundary Street and Babbage Road from Pacific Highway to Roseville Bridge
17 October 2017
New and extended clearways will soon be introduced on Boundary Street, Babbage Road and Warringah Road to improve traffic flow for motorists who travel along the key corridor between Roseville and Roseville Chase.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the clearways are part of the NSW Government’s $121 million Clearways Program, which aims to reduce delays and congestion by maximising use of existing road space.
“Introducing clearways on this key transport corridor through Sydney will reduce congestion for motorists and improve journey reliability,” the spokesperson said.
“This important corridor provides direct access to the Northern Beaches as well as the employment and shopping precinct at Chatswood.
“Clearways on Boundary Street, Babbage Road and Warringah Road from Pacific Highway at Roseville to Roseville Bridge at Roseville Chase will help traffic flow by restricting parking and allowing vehicles to be towed from these areas if they stop illegally or breakdown.
“Implementing the clearways will ensure all lanes are available to traffic during clearway hours.”
The spokesperson said as part of the proposal, some parking along Boundary Street would be removed to allow for the new and extended clearways to operate.
“Four on-street parking spaces in front of businesses at Roseville Chase Shops will be removed to introduce the new clearways,” the spokesperson said.
“Roads and Maritime Services has identified parking is available in nearby council carparks and in side streets with existing timed parking restrictions.
“Roads and Maritime is working closely with Ku-ring-gai Council to provide additional on-street parking for business customers nearby.”
The spokesperson said feedback on the alternate parking arrangements is invited by Friday 3 November and will be considered when finalising the proposal.
