Bridging the gap between the weird and wonderful ideas of the future
30 NOVEMBER 2017
Sydney is already home to the iconic Harbour Bridge and Anzac Bridge. So, what’s next?
All ideas both great and small with a focus on ‘Advancing with Technology’ will be explored at Roads and Maritime Services’ 12th annual Bridge Conference.
A Roads and Maritime spokesperson said the popular conference attracts hundreds of people from across NSW and Australia and is a chance to network and share knowledge.
“The conference provides a unique opportunity for Roads and Maritime staff and the industry to discuss new and innovative ideas and work collaboratively on NSW bridges.
“Ideas on everything from designing bridges and building them to maintaining, load testing and innovative ways of upgrading structures will be discussed.
“A highlight at last year’s event was the launch of the Country Bridge Solution which is already helping to replace ageing timber structures across NSW faster and cheaper.
“It’s hoped more of these ideas and discussions about innovation, safety initiatives and opportunities to create cost efficiencies will once again be achieved this year.”
The spokesperson said Roads and Maritime would be unable to achieve effective project outcomes for the community if it wasn’t for the continued strong relationships with industry.
The 12th Roads and Maritime Annual Bridge Conference will be held at the Powerhouse Museum on Thursday 7 December this year.
