Essential maintenance on Redbournberry pedestrian bridge at Singleton
3 April 2018
The Redbournberry Pedestrian Bridge at Singleton will get a facelift from next Monday 9 April with work being carried out to ensure this bridge continues to operate safely.
A Roads and Maritime spokesperson said the maintenance work will involve repairing of steel elements and repainting of the bridge.
“Work will be carried out from 7am to 6pm on weekdays, and Saturdays from 8am to 1pm. It is expected to be completed in September, weather permitting,” the spokesperson said.
“There will be no disruption to motorists, but some temporary changes will be required for the safety of workers, pedestrians and cyclists.
“Access for pedestrians and cyclists across the bridge will be available at all times, but there may be some minor delays when scaffolding is being put up and when machinery is being moved across the bridge.
“On these occasions, pedestrians and cyclists will be held at one end of the bridge by a project team member until it is safe to cross.”
Roads and Maritime thanks the community for their patience during this important project.
