Work continuing on Captain Cook Drive

10 July 2018

Motorists are advised that work will continue along Captain Cook Drive between Murrami Avenue and Carabella Road at Caringbah to complete work to build a noise wall.

To minimise impact to motorists, the contractor will remain on site for another 80 shifts, between Monday 16 July and Friday 30 November, excluding public holidays, weather permitting.

Completion of the first section of the noise wall is scheduled for Sunday 15 July. This work will involve lengthening the merge lane on Captain Cook Drive to alleviate congestion issues associated with merging traffic.

Daytime work hours will be between 7am and 6pm on weekdays and between 8am and 1pm on Saturday. Night work hours will be between 8pm and 5am from Sunday to Saturday.

There will be temporary traffic changes during work hours to ensure the work zone is safe. Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.

Motorists should plan their trip, allow extra travel time and follow the direction of traffic control and all signs.

Roads and Maritime Services thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
