Old certificates vs new
With the introduction of the national system for commercial vessels on 1 July 2013, the names of some Certificates of Competency have changed.
Validity of existing certificates
If you hold an existing Certificate of Competency, you can continue to operate nationally, with the same conditions of your existing certificate, until it expires.
When you renew, you'll be issued with an equivalent national certificate.
If your existing certificate has restrictions, those restrictions may be replicated in the new national certificate.
