Roads and Maritime Services aims to improve road safety for the heavy vehicle industry and the wider community through effective regulatory programs, and high quality compliance, enforcement and adjudication programs and systems.
Roads and Maritime enforces heavy vehicle compliance with road transport laws by checking heavy vehicles for mechanical roadworthiness, mass limits, dimension limits, load restraint, driver licensing and vehicle registration, and driver work/rest hours.
