Tourist Attraction Signposting Assessment Committee
Tourist signposting for installation on State Roads in NSW is assessed by the Tourist Attraction Signposting Assessment Committee (TASAC). TASAC is represented by Roads and Maritime Services, Tourism NSW and the NSW regional tourism organisations.
In many cases tourist attractions are located on Regional and Local roads. Guidance of road users to these attractions from the State Road network will only be effective when tourist signposting is provided and adequately maintained to/from the attraction on the Regional and Local road network. Council’s are responsible for the approval and maintenance of tourist signs on the Regional and Local road network.
Meetings are held monthly, with two meetings per annum in each Roads and Maritime Services region. TASAC meetings are open for any interested party including Councils to attend.
