Vessel operators are advised that Roads and Maritime Services (Roads and Maritime) has declared that the above events, which are to be held at Governor Phillip Park, Windsor (Windsor Bridge to 800 metres down-stream of South Creek), on the Hawkesbury River between 9:00am and 5:00pm on the following dates:
- 26 October 2014
- 23 November 2014
- 7 December 2014
- 8 February 2015
- 8 March 2015
- 12 April 2015
- 14 June 2015
- 26 July 2015
- 16 August 2015
are Special Events pursuant to Section 12(2) of the Marine Safety Act 1998.
SPECIAL EVENT & EXCLUSIVE USE AREA
Due to the potential to affect the safety of navigation, Roads and Maritime has granted an Exclusive Use Aquatic Licence to the Upper Hawkesbury Power Boat Club Inc. to conduct this event and a Special Event/Exclusive Use Area (‘the Area’) will be established on the navigable waters of the Hawkesbury River between Windsor Bridge to 800 metres down-stream of South Creek, between 9:00am and 5:00pm on each of the above listed days.
The Area boundaries will be patrolled by control vessels, who will advise vessel operators not to enter.
Roads and Maritime advises;
- Persons within the vicinity of the Area must comply with any directions given by a Boating Safety Officer or Police Officer in relation to the Special Event or to marine safety. Failure to comply with any such direction is an offence (Marine Safety Act 1998, s.15A - Maximum Penalty $3,300.00).
- No unauthorized vessels are permitted to enter the Area and to do so may be an offence (Marine Safety Act 1998, s.12(6) - Maximum Penalty $1,100.00)
