Navigation Restriction - Manning River - Old Bar
Manning River - Old Bar
Removal of Navigation Markers
November 2010 - Ongoing
Vessel operators are advised that due to heavy siltation and the accumulation of migrating shoaling sands, the marked navigation channel in the South Passage of the Manning River, in the vicinity of Old Bar (commonly referred to as ‘Bisho’s Corner’), is no longer recognised by NSW Maritime as being safe for navigation. As a result, and in the interests of public safety, the navigational markers have been removed.
Roads andMaritime advises that the area is now considered unsafe for navigation on all tides. Yellow Special marks and signage have been installed to indicate the area most affected.
Roads andMaritime advises that extreme caution should be exercised at all times by vessel operators until such time as the area is declared safe, and is again marked as a navigable channel.
