NAVIGATION WARNING

Murray River and Tributaries, Yarrawonga Weir to South Australian Border
HAZARDOUS RIVER CONDITIONS DUE TO FLOODING
16 August 2016 until conditions abate

Roads and Maritime Services advise vessel operators that the Murray River and its tributaries between the Yarrawonga Weir, Lake Mulwala, and the South Australian Border (Old Customs House) are currently experiencing flood conditions.

Extreme caution should be taken when navigating in the area affected due to the risks associated with flood waters including high river current, submerged hazards, and floating debris.

River infrastructure such as weirs and locks, overhead electrical crossings, and bridges may pose a heightened risk to navigation as a result of the flood water conditions.

Flood waters are expected to prevail for the foreseeable future and all vessel operators are encourage to postpone any non-urgent trips until the river recedes back to a safe level.
