Lower Terranora Creek, Tweed Heads
Monday 25 September 2017 to Saturday 31 March 2018
7:00am to 6:00pm (Mon to Fri) & 7:00am to 1:00pm (Saturdays)


Roads and Maritime Services (Roads and Maritime) advises that maintenance dredging operations will be undertaken by the Department of Industry – Lands/NSW Public Works in the lower Terranora Creek to maintain the channel and remove the sandbar in the vicinity of Foysters Jetty, at Tweed Heads.

These works will be undertaken between 7:00am and 6:00pm Monday to Fridays and from 7:00am to 1:00pm Saturdays during the period Monday 25 September 2017 to Saturday 31 March 2018.  


Vessel operators are advised to exercise extreme caution when navigating in the vicinity of the works and to pay particular attention to the dredge’s anchoring cables, pipeline, lighting and any temporary signage. The pipeline will be displaying orange flashing lights during hours of darkness, and the dredge will be marked with appropriate day shapes and lighting at night.

This navigation warning remains in place for the duration of the works.


Roads and Maritime advises:

  1. Persons in the vicinity of the Works must comply with any directions given by a Boating Safety Officer or Police Officer in relation to marine safety. Failure to comply with any such direction is an offence (Marine Safety Act 1998, s.15A - Maximum Penalty $3,300.00).
  2. Vessels are required to maintain a safe distance and speed from the works and operators are reminded that the production of wash which impacts unreasonably on the works is an offence (Marine Safety Regulation – clause 11 (2) — Maximum Penalty $5,500.00).
