AID TO NAVIGATION – TEMPORARY CHANGE TO FLASH CHARACTERISTICS AND REDUCTION IN RANGE AND ELEVATION.

Vessel operators are advised that the Warden Lighthouse, near the township of Ulladulla NSW, is scheduled to undergo necessary maintenance between the above dates. As a result a temporarily light with a change in flash characteristics, reduced range and charted height will be installed while the work is carried out.
Vessel operators are advised to exercise caution when navigating on the waters of the Tasman Sea and in the vicinity of the township of Ulladulla and Warden Head, particularly during times of restricted visibility when the light is typically activated.
As a result of the necessary maintenance to the Warden Head Lighthouse, a temporary light has been be fitted displaying the following flash characteristics; two flashes in 10 seconds comprising 1 second on, 1.5 seconds off, 1 second on, 6.5 seconds off.
This temporary light will also have a reduced range from 14 nautical miles to a maximum range of approximately 5.7 nautical miles, and its height above sea level will be reduced from its charted height of 34 metres to 29.5 metres.
