Nepean River, Penrith
PARTIAL CLOSURE OF THE NEPEAN RIVER & INSTALLATION OF TEMPORARY BRIDGE PIERS
Mondays to Saturdays - 13 March 2017 to mid 2018
The NSW Government is building a new pedestrian and cyclist bridge over the Nepean River to provide a safe crossing for pedestrians and cyclists.
As part of this project, Roads and Maritime Services will be installing temporary piers in the Nepean River at Penrith to assist in the construction of the bridge from Monday 13 March 2017. The works will be carried out between 7:00am and 6:00pm Mondays to Fridays and from 8:00am to 1:00pm Saturdays, weather dependent.
In order to maintain safe navigation and to ensure a safe work zone, Roads and Maritime will establish exclusion zones and close two sections of the Nepean River for the construction of the temporary piers, commencing on the above date.
River traffic will still be able to pass through the work area with warning markers placed to assist safe navigation.
