Work continues on Barrenjoey Road at Palm Beach
A Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) spokesperson today said work to repair the slope beside Barrenjoey Road was progressing well.
"RMS is carrying out the work between Surf and Iluka roads," the spokesperson said.
"Work recently completed includes excavation of the slope and the installation and testing of the first row of stabilisation material.
"Work is continuing with further excavation, completion of the first row of stabilisation material, the setting up of scaffold for the second row and preparation for drain repairs.
Mobile lighting towers and generators have been removed and replaced with temporary fixed lighting towers to minimise noise for residents.
"Work is being carried out weekdays from 7am to 6pm and Saturday from 8am to 1pm.
"The northbound lane on Barrenjoey Road will be closed during work hours to provide a safe working area.
"The southbound lane on Barrenjoey Road will operate under a combination of mobile traffic lights and stop/slow contra flow traffic arrangements.
"Reduced roadwork speed limits apply.
"Mobile traffic lights at both ends of the road will guide motorists through the site under alternating traffic conditions out of work hours," the spokesperson said.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution and allow extra travel time.
