Charles Kay Drive and Brunswick Road safety improvements
Roads and Maritime Services upgraded the Terrigal Drive intersections at Charles Kay Drive and Brunswick Road to improve safety and traffic flow along Terrigal Drive.
Updates and announcements
Upgrade work on Terrigal Drive at the Charles Kay Drive and Brunswick Road intersections opened to traffic in February 2016.
The NSW Government provided $25 million for the upgrade, which included installing traffic lights at the Charles Kay Drive and Brunswick Road intersections to reduce peak hour traffic queues.
Construction work was carried out from June 2014 to February 2016. The upgrade included:
- Installing traffic lights at the Charles Kay Drive and Brunswick Road intersections.More information about the design is available in the Project Map.
- Widening Terrigal Drive between Duffys Road and Charles Kay Drive to provide two through lanes in each direction and additional left and right turn lanes out of Charles Kay Drive.
- Providing a shared pedestrian and cycle path on the southern side of Terrigal Drive between Duffys Road and Bellbird Avenue
- Providing pedestrian traffic lights east of Duffys Road to improve safety for pedestrians crossing Terrigal Drive.
