Wyong Road intersection upgrade at Enterprise Drive

The major upgrade of the intersection of Wyong Road at Enterprise Drive and Chittaway Road was completed in October 2016. The upgrade involved replacing the existing roundabout with traffic lights to improve traffic flow and safety, while catering for future traffic growth.

Updates and announcements

Upgrade work on the Wyong Road intersection upgrade at Enterprise Drive and Chittaway Road, Chittway Bay is complete.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast, Scot MacDonald MLC announced the project complete in October 2016.

Project background

Wyong Road is the major road linking the M1 Pacific Motorway with Wyong, Tuggerah, The Entrance and surrounding coastal suburbs. The roundabout at Enterprise Drive is heavily congested during peak hours.

The upgrade will replace the existing roundabout with traffic lights to improve traffic flow and safety for the 48,000 vehicles using this section of Wyong Road each day.

  • Improved pedestrian and cycle network.

Key features of the upgrade include:

  • Provision of bus jump lanes at the traffic lights for both directions on Wyong Road to assist public transport
  • Double right turn lanes from Enterprise Drive into Wyong Road
  • Single left turn lane from Wyong Road into Enterprise Drive
  • Double left turn lanes from Enterprise Drive into Wyong Road
  • Double right turn lanes from Wyong Road into Enterprise Drive
  • Double right turn lanes from Chittaway Road into Wyong Road
  • Cyclists would be catered for with provision for a shared pedestrian cycleway on both sides of Wyong Road.
