McFarlane Bridge is located on the Lawrence Road connecting the communities of Maclean, Woodford Island and Lawrence. Roads and Maritime Services has carried out major restoration work to the McFarlane Bridge.

McFarlane Bridge will be closed to traffic from 9.30pm on Sunday 3 December to 5am on Monday 4 December as part of bridge maintenance work. Motorists are advised to use South Arm road crossing at Brushgrove as an alternative route.

Work on the bridge restoration project will continue on weekdays between 7am and 6pm is expected to be completed by May 2018, weather permitting.

Project background

Lawrence Road connects the communities of Maclean, Woodford Island and Lawrence as well as being an alternative route to the Pacific Highway between Maclean and Grafton.

McFarlane Bridge was built in 1906 and is a 17 span timber beam bridge with two central steel spans.
