McFarlane Bridge is located on the Lawrence Road connecting the communities of Maclean, Woodford Island and Lawrence. Roads and Maritime Services has carried out major restoration work to the McFarlane Bridge.

Updates and announcements

Temporary traffic changes will be in place on McFarlane Bridge from Monday 19 to Thursday 22 September to allow the bridge deck to be sealed. Traffic will be reduced to one lane across the bridge under traffic lights and reduced speed limits in place.

Pier work continues with minor impacts to traffic.

Project background

Lawrence Road connects the communities of Maclean, Woodford Island and Lawrence as well as being an alternative route to the Pacific Highway between Maclean and Grafton.

McFarlane Bridge was built in 1906 and is a 17 span timber beam bridge with two central steel spans.
