Roads and Maritime Services has delivered a six kilometre upgrade of the Oxley Highway between Wrights Road and the Pacific Highway at Port Macquarie. The project was officially opened to traffic on 7 February 2012 and completed on 18 May 2012.
The NSW Government funded this $115 million project.

Wrights Road to Pacific Highway

Project background

BMD Constructions Pty Ltd was awarded the contract to construct the Oxley Highway upgrade.

The upgrade crosses Lindfield Park Road before passing over the existing Oxley Highway just west of Phillip Charley Drive and rejoins the existing highway at the roundabout near the Pacific Highway.

The upgrade improves road safety and provides better travel times for motorists travelling from Wauchope and surrounding areas into Port Macquarie.

Preliminary works on the Wrights Road roundabout and the cross-over bridge near Phillip Charley Drive and Lindfield Park were completed in 2009.

Post construction noise report

Roads and Maritime Services engaged AECOM Australia to carry out a post construction noise assessment on the project to verify noise predictions, the effectiveness of noise reduction measures and the need for additional measures where required.

The Post Construction Noise Assessment report (27MB, PDF) is now available. Hard copies of the report are available on request.
